Human Sexuality

The human desire for sexual exchange is God given and within His purpose is a great blessing. However, since the fall of man these desires have become twisted and no longer remain in focus. Since the fall of man, the desire for sex is triggered by different things . . . some things that are outside of God’s original purpose and plan, and some things which are very twisted and unnatural. Even within a normal godly relationship between a man and his WIFE, some people are “turned on” by things that others would never have even considered. It may be uncomfortable to talk about here, but some people are “turned on” by animal mutilation . . among other things most of us would call horrific and perverse. The bottom line in this issue is really much simpler than we seem to think. God’s purpose for human sexuality is for marital intimacy and procreation, and also to be a human object lesson for the relationship of Christ and His church. ANYTHING outside of this purpose is contrary to God’s reason and law, and is sin. So, with that said, A man (or woman) who has sexual attraction to another woman (or man) beside his wife (or her husband) has no more right to follow through with that desire than to have sex with a dog, or anyone other that his/her spouse. The desire is irrelevant. I feel just as bad for a man who is “turned on” by another man as I do for anyone else who has sexual desires outside of God’s purpose. I don’t know of too many men who have never felt attracted to another woman besides their wife. But it is an attraction that must be resisted if we are to remain in God’s will. Many people have desires to lie, cheat, steal and murder. Just because that may be a desire certainly does not give one the right to do so, because these things are outside of God’s plan and purpose. We are all born sinners!! That does not mean its alright to sin. So for a person who has sexual attraction to the same gender to say “I was born that way” gives them no more right to follow through with that desire than any other desire which is outside of and against God’s laws. Jesus Christ left His Father’s presence and came to this Earth to defeat sin and pay our just death sentence, so that we could be brought back into the relationship with God that we were created for. For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Society does NOT set the standards for God! But even in society’s arrogant self-will . . . God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
